Precious Creatures

It's amazing how pets grab hold of our hearts and never let go. God blesses us with these precious creatures and they become an irreplaceable part of our lives.

We lost Mikey yesterday, the dog I spoke of in my blog post, "Blind Trust".  He reached the point where he couldn't walk and was having problems breathing.  We knew he was suffering and he deserved to be free. We are all mourning and many tears have been shed but we will hold fast to the memories of his unconditional love and the comfort, joy and companionship he so enthusiastically brought to each one of us. He was a beloved part of our family for many years, and for that we are truly grateful.

There is much discussion on what happens when a pet dies.  Do they go to heaven? What do you think?  I believe God rewards those pure of heart, and that is the whole essence of a pet. I have no doubt Mikey is romping in the flowery fields of heaven with all our other beloved companions that went before him.

  1. Patti, I'm sorry for your loss :( We had to say goodbye to our dog, Shadow, this summer. Sometimes I still wait for him to come bounding around the corner when I arrive home.
